Setting up ICS on your Shopify store is quick and easy with this process, taking only a few minutes to complete. Compared to the longer Shopify Integration with Editor' this process involves fewer steps. However, it's important to note that if you need to make changes to your script in the future, you will need to replace it entirely.

Step 1 - Adding landing page script to your Shopify theme files

Including this code snippet throughout your Shopify store is important so you can track customers from page to page through your entire checkout experience. You can also use it to present your offer before checkout, depending on your campaign's strategy.

To locate this script, visit the ICS admin, select a campaign you plan to use and then navigate to the Integrations page. This is the one we're after:

If you don't want the widget and offer to displayed on landing pages, try toggling off "Open by default" under Page Load Behavior, and toggling on "Hide" under the Trigger section. These settings can be found on the Script Customizer sidebar.

After configuring the script as needed and copying it, switch back to Shopify, and now you'll have to navigate to your theme files to add it.

From the left menu, open up the Shares Channel menu and click on Themes. Open up the additional actions menu from your installed theme, and click Edit Code.

On the next page, there will be a list of theme assets on the left side. From here you'll want to find the file called theme.liquid and click edit.

In this file, you'll want to paste your ICS script from the admin. You'll want to insert the script inside the <head> element, preferably after any <meta> tags.

After pasting this in, click Save.

Step 2 - Adding a post-purchase widget to your store

Adding the post-purchase widget to your Shopify store gives an ICS campaign to capture customer order information and track transaction conversions.

To get this script, visit the Integrations tab again from the admin, and this time configure and copy the script under the header Include on Conversion Pages:

Now, back on your Shopify site, go to Settings:

Navigate to the Checkout section:

Scroll to the section near the bottom of the page called Additional scripts:

Paste your script into the Order status page text area and click Save.
